Reed have partnered exclusively with a growing company based in West Sussex who are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.In this role you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and minimising risks associated with the overall operation. This role involves conducting regular safety audits, providing training, and collaborating with various departments to enhance safety performance.This role offers a great chance for professional growth. You will collaborate closely with an experienced Health and Safety Manager, providing you with valuable mentoring prospects.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety practices.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure the organisation is compliant with mandatory regulations.
  • Lead the health and safety committee meetings and report on relevant issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor.
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
  • Excellent organisational and motivational skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH or IOSH).
