Project Engineer - Salary c£35000 - £45,000 DOE + Bonus + Benefits
Based: West Sussex
Our client is a global leader in the design and supply of Fired Heaters and Waste Heat Recovery Units supplying the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Energy Industries. They are searching for recent graduates to join their Project Management team; you will have a Mechanical Engineering degree and excellent client facing communication skills. Ideally you will have a minimum of 24 months practical PM experience although applications will be considered without it.
You will have first class communication and organisation skills and will report directly to the Projects Director. This role offers the best training within the oil and gas sector and opportunities to travel within the organisation.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- The management and control of contracts to achieve completion on time within budget.
- Review of client purchase orders and all Sales handover documentation
- Issue of job instructions to each of the internal departments and specialists
- Management of departments to ensure completion of job instructions
- Project control by development and monitoring of programmes to approved systems
- Monitor the development of Quality Plans
- Drafting of all material, fabrication and equipment purchase order requisitions and specifications
- Review and approve all sub-contractor bids including technical aspects
- Distribution/review of drawings/documents to clients plus monitoring to ensure timely submission
- Compilation and control of necessary contract variations, status reports, shipping lists, erection instructions and installation, start-up and maintenance instructions
- Management of sub-contractors to ensure the product is supplied to order and specifications
- Undertake duties and responsibilities as described, managing and controlling contracts to achieve completion in time within budget as directed by Projects Director/Project Engineering Manager
Candidate Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or practical mechanical engineering background with City & Guilds/ONC/HNC equivalent qualifications
- Relevant project management engineering experience, even at university level and a project management qualification would be ideal
- Strong attention to detail and task orientated with excellent organisational skill
- Computer literate good Microsoft skills
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Commercial bias and focus with sound commercial skills
- Ability to learn about other areas of the business for example pressure part and steel fabrication
- Ability to undertake extensive international travel
