Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing and engineering sector, is currently seeking a Design Engineer to join their team in Pulborough.

Design, High Voltage, UC Design, CADSTAR, Schematics capture, Analogue control systems

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with customers to agree unit specifications
  • Design and develop high voltage power conversion products and associated equipment to agreed specifications
  • Investigate and research new design techniques (higher stability, lower noise, faster polarity reversing) where required
  • Accurately document the design to enable full manufacturing packages to be created or amended
  • Confirm that developed designs meet their requirements by test, simulation, and calculation
  • Meet agreed time-scales for tasks or projects
  • Ensure that designs are cost-effective, designed for manufacture, and test
  • Ensure products are compliant to all current legal and regulatory requirements, avoiding the use of components, materials, or substances identified as presenting a threat to the environment
  • Assume ownership of assigned projects from conception to completion and provide continued support while in service
  • Responsibility for adhering to the Company's ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental, and Health and Safety management systems and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Job Requirements:
  • Experience as a Design Engineer in SISS and Ops
  • Knowledge of up-to-date components, technology, and manufacturing techniques
  • Understanding of current regulations and procedures, and how they affect design
  • Experience in UC design with respect to analogue control and systems would be desirable
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with both colleagues and customers
  • Understanding of constraints of PCB layout and mechanical packaging
  • Ability to work under pressure to demanding timescales
  • Ability to follow formal design procedures and methodologies in accordance with ISO 9001:2000
  • Proficiency in Schematic Capture using CADSTAR desirable
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
