Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Quantity Surveyor to deliver a professional and thorough commercial service across various projects. You will ensure all projects are effectively administered and align with business objectives in terms of health and safety, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within the company's Integrated Management System, policies, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain strong commercial and operational partnerships to meet project needs.
  • Monitor and manage risks and associated budgets.
  • Ensure performance standards and quality expectations are met.
  • Procure subcontractors at competitive rates to maximise profitability.
  • Build strong client relationships and maintain effective communication.
  • Fully understand contracts and scope of work, ensuring clear communication with the project team.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies in line with contract programmes.
  • Submit timely applications for payment to optimise cash flow.
  • Recover retentions as per contractual agreements.
  • Identify opportunities for value enhancement and submit pricing variations.
  • Review costs and value with the site team to ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Provide support and development to other members of the project team.

What Our Client is Looking For:

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong contract awareness.
  • Financial acumen and understanding of tendering and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of QHSE legislation.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment.
  • Experience in dispute resolution (desirable).
  • Understanding of CVRs and financial reports (desirable).

Technology Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Business Collaborator.
  • Experience with company-based cost recording systems.

Training & Qualifications:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • NEC3, NEC4, ECC, ICE, and JCT contract awareness.
  • Preferably HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • Membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) (desirable).
