Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 45 hours per week 07:00 – 17:00 1-hour unpaid lunch

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled Compactor Engineer to join our team at Purfleet Essex. This is a new position within the company due to company growth and is an opportunity to start from scratch and build an effective service to our customers. As a Compactor Engineer, you are responsible for conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on company and customer equipment as well as basic vehicle repairs, and plant and machinery within the Business as and when required. Adhering to health and safety standards and follow manufactures guidance for the relevant equipment you would be working on. You will report to the Fleet Management team and effective communication with team members and colleagues is essential, along with a proactive approach to seeking out best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Servicing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting recycling plant machinery
  • Hydraulic & electrical fault finding
  • Diagnostics
  • Safety inspections
  • Preparing reports
  • Welding and basic fabrication
  • Three phase electrical experience and qualification viewed as an advantage
  • Ability to carry out basic repairs on HGV fleet including RCV vehicles

About you:

  • Experience working on Recycling Plant Machinery and Hydraulics
  • Full driving licence
  • Flexibility/availability for emergency call out and weekend work as required meeting customer expectations and operational needs
  • Ability to work quickly and under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Self-motivated
