Job Opportunity: ESG Generalist Consultant

Location: London/Surrey Locations (Hybrid - 3 days in office per week)

Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 (Depending on Experience)

Our client is seeking a passionate and driven ESG Generalist Consultant to join their expanding consultancy, working across various industry sectors, primarily with private equity clients. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of sustainable business practices, advising companies on how to achieve environmental, social, and governance excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with board members and senior management to assess and document ESG aspects within companies, including mapping their journey to net-zero and sustainability excellence.
  • Prepare impactful ESG Impact Reports to communicate progress and strategies to key stakeholders.
  • Calculate carbon footprints, guide clients on offsetting, and develop comprehensive carbon reduction plans.
  • Devise sustainability policies, CSR strategies, and frameworks that align with best practices, including B-Corp certification criteria.
  • Evaluate ESG performance and provide tailored recommendations to help clients achieve their net-zero and broader ESG targets.
  • Advise clients on achieving or maintaining B-Corp certification, ensuring alignment with social and environmental performance standards.
  • Lead or support the process of preparing ESG Impact Assessments and guide clients through necessary steps to secure or improve their certification status.

Professional and Personal Attributes:

  • Experience in environmental, social, or governance aspects within the sustainability field. Full ESG experience is highly advantageous.
  • A deep, genuine passion for net-zero, ESG, and sustainability practices, with specific interest or experience in B-Corp certification.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work in a consultancy environment.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex sustainability concepts.
  • Proactive and goal-oriented, with a focus on achieving sustainability goals and reducing carbon emissions.
  • Expertise in carbon footprinting, net-zero strategies, and ESG frameworks.
  • Experience in crafting detailed impact reports, and ideally, familiarity with B-Corp reporting requirements and the certification process.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior leadership teams.
