Performance Excellence Lead/ Continuous Improvement Manager

We are now looking for the above role to coordinate and lead the continued evolution of the Performance Excellence (PE) system in the Purfleet Refinery.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead, teach and coach employees at all levels in PE/CI processes
  • Actively promote Continuous Improvement (CI) throughout the organization.
  • Drive CI training and the implementation and continued utilization of PE processes and tools such as DMAIC, SMED, problem solving, 5S and standard work.
  • Developing KPIs & setting up review & response system.
  • Lead PE/CI events resulting in employee skill development and KPI improvements using team building, data gathering and analysis, problem solving and project management.
  • Track and report PE/CI activities including accomplishments, participation, and planned activity and anticipated needs, actively identifying and documenting process improvements.
  • Support & facilitate Zero Loss Landscape and Losses to actions
  • Drive performance and assure timely completion and achievement of process/product quality and savings goals using appropriate measurement and evaluation methods.
  • Identify barriers to success and solicit help from leadership when necessary.
  • Maintain communication channels with relevant internal departments including maintenance, commercial, finance, logistics and purchasing to assure appropriate information flow
  • Maintain communication channels with external PE group, take active part in monthly PE calls and good practice sharing
  • Participate in plant auditing processes including review and response (feedback), internal and customer audits.
  • Ensuring standardization (where appropriate) of the provided tools and methods in compliance with the Performance Excellence methodology.
  • Collaborating closely with the Plant Leadership Team to align PE activities with strategic objectives, overseeing the local PE Plant Steering Team, and driving progress towards established goals.
  • Develops and coordinates the implementation Plan (Tracker) together with the regional Practitioner agendas, reviewing feedback reports of practitioners and ensures appropriate countermeasures.
  • Ensuring transparency and accountability through the robust tracking and reporting of cost and savings models, and delivering on expected savings at the Site Level.
  • Providing guidance, education, and coaching to PE Pillar teams, empowering them to effectively utilize tools and methodologies aligned with PE implementation phases.
  • Ensures visibility of cost and savings model ROI and the delivery of the expected savings at the Site Level.
  • Provides regular updates to Business Unit Steering team and Regional PE Organization regarding PE progress.
  • To play a key role in the Purfleet management team and assisting in any production management and compliance activities as appropriate.

Your Profile

  • MSc, BSc, MEng, BEng, in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering or the ability to operate at that level.
  • Good experience working in a production/manufacturing/process environment
  • A Knowledge and an infinity to H&S and compliance best practice and procedures.
  • Good communication, persuasion, negotiation and motivational skills and able to partner with colleagues at all levels.
  • Compliance, safety and cost management experience in a production environment would be ideal.
