Role:Admin customs assistant Freight Import/Export

Location:Essex

Basic Salary: £25k to £28k.

Benefits:Pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life assurance

Hours:9am to 5:00pm

REQS: Essential customs knowledge, Export or import road freight sector experience. Customer service, logging invoice requests, support and admin. All essential

  • Managing fast paced shared mailboxes
  • Booking and handling jobs through our TMS / workflow dashboard
  • Communication with customers, external suppliers and government bodies
  • Operationally handle shipments on our in house systems
  • Logging Duty/VAT invoicing requests to a central database
  • Assisting with finance related queries both internally and externally
  • Deliver high levels of customer service
  • Support commercial awareness and the management team
  • Support and assist colleagues in other departments
  • Ensure customs compliance is maintained

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Good understanding of customs, import/export freight procedures
  • Ability to work to demanding deadlines
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft office
  • Excellent Attention to detail
  • Flexible approach and attitude
  • Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team is essential
  • Excellent organisational skills including record keeping
  • Problem solving and the ability to engage critical thinking skills
