Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £49,000 - £51,000
Shift: 4on4off Days and Nights
Location: Purfleet-on-Thames, Essex
We are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading FMCG company. We are seeking candidates with an electrical bias, although those with a mechanical bias and strong electrical skills are also encouraged to apply. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the production process. This includes performing planned and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime, diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults, and supporting production teams. Additionally, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and upgrading machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and working collaboratively with the production team to optimize equipment performance.
Skills required for Maintenance Engineer:
- Multi-skilled engineering experience, with a preference for strong electrical skills (mechanical bias considered with proven electrical competence).
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical).
- A background in industrial or manufacturing environments, ideally FMCG.
- Ideally have experience with PLCs, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated machinery.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations within a manufacturing setting.
