This role requires a detail-oriented individual to support financial operations, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of invoices and purchase orders. With a competitive hourly rate starting at £16.25 for a full-time position (36 hours per week), this is an ideal chance for those looking to enhance their finance expertise within a supportive team environment.

  • Review and verify invoices against purchase orders, ensuring that correct quantities, pricing, and delivery charges are billed accurately.
  • Raise purchase orders, and diligently track facility costs and the operational goods and services supplied.
  • Identify discrepancies and initiate resolutions by effectively liaising with relevant stakeholders, promoting a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Engage closely with procurement and warehouse teams on a daily basis to address queries related to orders, preventing delays in invoice payment.
  • Communicate with external suppliers daily to obtain proof of delivery (PODs) and credit notes for goods that are returned or incorrectly billed invoices.
  • Generate various reports from the financial system to identify orders yet to be invoiced, and proactively contact suppliers for copy invoices.
  • Manage the finance mailbox and provide timely responses to queries from internal teams and suppliers.
  • Complete supplier statement reconciliations, ensuring that missing invoices are requested in order to maintain
  • accurate financial records.

The successful candidate will have:

  1. Proven experience in finance or bookkeeping, particularly within invoice processing and purchase orders.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  3. Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  4. Proficiency in financial software and systems, with the capability to generate reports and efficiently manage data.
  5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
  6. A proactive attitude towards resolving issues and enhancing processes within the finance department.
