Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to provide outstanding care and education for children in their Purley nursery. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone committed to fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive setting where children can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare & Education

  • Deliver high-quality early years education following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate learning activities that promote development.
  • Observe, assess, and document children's progress to support their individual learning journeys.
  • Encourage the development of social, emotional, and physical skills in a nurturing environment.
  • Health & Safety
  • Ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are strictly followed.
  • Conduct daily safety checks and risk assessments to maintain a secure, hygienic, and well-organized environment.
  • Promote positive health and hygiene practices, including supervising meals and supporting toileting routines.

Parental Engagement

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers.
  • Provide regular updates on children’s progress, milestones, and daily activities.
  • Address any concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Work closely with colleagues to deliver outstanding childcare services.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and nursery events.
  • Support the Nursery Manager and senior staff in ensuring smooth daily operations.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
  • Previous experience in an early years setting.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
