Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools. As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light vehicles (mainly vans) to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
Hours & Pay
Mon-Fri 8am-6pm & Every Other Saturday.
Pay rate : 14-16p/h starting wage.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake checks, and tyre rotations.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and maintenance work.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and provide accurate reports on findings.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while adhering to safety standards.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle repair or maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology or a related field would be advantageous but are not essential.
