Property Operations Manager

As a Property Operations Manager, you’ll accelerate Llyn’s success as an internationally recognised visitor destination and asset for the local community.

You'll be responsible for operational leadership and smooth running of the whole operation, specific areas of responsibility include visitor welcome and service, membership, income generation, and facilities management.

The ability to communicate fluently in Welsh is essential for this role.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll be part of the Ynys Môn & Llyn Portfolio Leadership Team holding responsibility for the daily operation of our Llyn properties.  

You’ll lead a varied team of staff and volunteers, responsible for the day-to-day operations on-site, while contributing strategically to the leadership of the estate.

The Llyn properties include Plas yn Rhiw, a 17th century manor house, Porth y Swnt, which is a unique visitor centre opened in 2014, as well as a variety of smaller places such as the old Coastguard Station at the very tip of the peninsula or Caban Griff nestled in the village of Porthdinllaen. Our busy coastal car parks at Porthdinllaen, Porthor, Aberdaron and Llanbedrog all have popular welcome facilities and there’s an additional staff hub located at Cwrt, Uwchmynydd.

You’ll work collaboratively with peers and colleagues to deliver Llyn’s visitor operation while inspiring our supporters to connect with our cause, working in partnership with the Experience and Visitor Programming Manager, Facilities Manager, and Countryside Manager in particular, to deliver a seamless visitor experience. You’ll support each of your teams to prioritise, providing the resources and direction for them, ensuring their care, confidence and capability in delivering our strategy. 

You’ll deputise for the General Manager at key partner meetings and in running the estate in their absence. 

Flexibility is key, the role is varied and no two days are the same. Some days will be spent with teams on the ground in busy visitor facing environments, other days will be spent working with the leadership team developing longer term visions and business plans. You’ll need the energy and enthusiasm to work at pace, balancing reactive tasks with strategic planning and you’ll bring a positive attitude towards problem solving.

To succeed you’ll need: 

•Experience of and enthusiasm for managing a fast-paced operation  

•Experience of business planning, developing and growing income, and budget management 

•Experience of being both an inspiring leader and a great people manager, with a track record of leading diverse professional teams 

•The ability to communicate fluently in Welsh 

•To be a great collaborator and communicator, with the ability to be decisive  

•An understanding of the importance of great service, growing support for an important cause, and of presentation standards  

•Good understanding of compliance, health and safety, and the management of emergency procedures 

•A commitment to ensuring experiences are welcoming to everyone, with experience in improving accessibility in a workplace or visitor experience
