We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our school inQueens Park, Greater London. The successful candidate will provide support to pupils with challenging behaviour and help them to develop positive and appropriate behaviours.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils with challenging behaviour in a classroom setting, under the guidance of the class teacher and the SENCO.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to develop positive and appropriate behaviours, using a range of strategies and interventions.
  • Support pupils with social and emotional needs, helping them to develop positive relationships with peers and adults.
  • Monitor pupil behaviour, providing feedback to teachers and senior staff.
  • Liaise with parents and external agencies, as required.
  • Attend training and professional development opportunities, as necessary.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour, ideally within an educational setting.
  • A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, and to use their initiative when working independently.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools).
