About the Role:
Our client a well-established Civil engineering contractor are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated Assistant Planner to join their established team and support the successful delivery of new power transmission frameworks across Scotland.  In this role, you will work closely with our experienced planning team, contributing to the planning and execution of high-profile infrastructure projects that are vital to the country's energy future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and managing detailed project schedules for power transmission frameworks, ensuring they align with overall project objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to monitor progress, identify risks, and support the implementation of mitigation strategies.
  • Use industry-standard planning tools to help track project timelines, resources, and milestones.
  • Participate in regular schedule reviews, providing updates and reports to senior planners, management, and clients.
  • Support the project team in achieving key deliverables within time and budget constraints.
  • Contribute to risk management and value engineering exercises, helping to shape the overall project strategy.
  • Assist in liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure effective coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in a planning role, preferably within large-scale infrastructure projects in the power transmission or energy sector.
  • Familiarity with planning software such as Primavera P6 or similar.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles, with an interest in forecasting potential challenges and implementing solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in planning and reporting.
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to learning and delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Construction Management) is desirable but not essential.
