Job Title: Section Engineer

Overview: Our client a well established Civil engineering contractor are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Section Engineer to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in a brand new multi-million pound Power Transmission Framework project for SSE.  As this role is at the Early Contractor Involvement stage, you will be joining the team from the outset and will see the project through to its successful completion. Your expertise will be key to the success of this venture, and we are eager to welcome an experienced professional to our team.

Your Role:

  • Duration: Based in head office on outskirts of Glasgow until Summer 2025. After this, you will be required to work on various sites between Inverness and Aberdeen.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Manage and oversee engineering tasks, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.
    • Develop and implement detailed engineering plans, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
    • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
    • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to maintain clear communication and ensure successful project delivery.
    • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental policies are adhered to on-site.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, ensuring the highest standards of quality control are maintained.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Section Engineer or in a similar role, preferably within large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, engineering principles, and project management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
  • A valid CSCS card and relevant health and safety certifications.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
