Senior Quantity Surveyor

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Nottingham for a water project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the commercial and contractual aspects of the project, ensuring cost control, profitability, and accurate reporting. This role requires a thorough understanding of AMP8, CVR, subcontractor orders, cost forecasting, NEC options A-C and Option E, as well as comprehensive reporting capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working for a tier 1 contractor.
Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (Options A-C and Option E)
  • Experience with cost value reconciliation (CVR)
  • Expertise in cost forecasting
  • Subcontractor management
  • Accurate and timely reporting
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Contractual compliance
  • Project cost control
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage risk and develop mitigation plans
  • Software/Tools:
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Project management and cost control software
  • Certifications & Standards:
  • HNC in Quantity Surveying or similar (essential)
  • Undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or similar (advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the utilities or civil industry (desirable)
