We are excited to support a highly regarded education provider in Radstock in recruiting a Foundation Lecturer to join their dedicated team. This role plays a vital part in delivering outstanding educational provision to a cohort of EHCP learners with diverse special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The successful candidate will empower learners by delivering high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring each student achieves their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching & Learning: Plan and deliver engaging learning programmes, including life skills, employability skills, and functional maths and English (Entry Level 1 to Level 1).
  • Resource Development: Create schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, and learning materials tailored to the needs of learners with SEND and/or social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of formative and summative assessments, ensuring learners' progress is effectively tracked and communicated.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the SEND Coordinator, support staff, and wider teams to support learners' transition and progression.
  • Health & Safety: Conduct risk assessments for classroom activities, workshops, and educational trips.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified professional with:

  • A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLS, or equivalent).
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Experience or knowledge of sensory-based learning environments within Foundation Learning Provision.
  • Strong curriculum development and innovative teaching delivery skills.
