This SEN school are looking for Learning Support Assistants to provide first class support to children with complex social, emotional and mental health needs, ADHD, and communication difficulties, Down syndrome and some speech, language and communication needs.

Supported by their highly specialist site, they offer their students a wide array of extracurricular activities, therapies, and personalised care in built for purpose spaces. There is a keen emphasis on matching the provision to the individual needs of each child, and the school takes pride in the great parent and pupil feedback on the quality of their care.

Your role as Psychology Graduate may include, but not be limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting children's behaviour for learning in the classroom.
  • Helping children with their understanding of the teacher's instructions.
  • Working with individual learners in the classroom 1:1, or working with individuals or small groups in the Learning Support department.
  • Keeping track and recording pupil progress.

About you

  • A recent Psychology or Criminology Graduate with 2:2 or above.
  • Experience working with children - for example youth work, support work, mental health work or SEN in sport
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about making a different in the lives of children with special educational needs
  • Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour
