CNC Machine Setter

Salary:Ā£35,360 Days

Job Type: Immediately PERMANENT

Hours: 6am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday for Days

Nights Also Available Ā£45,970 including shift allowance for nights

Location of Work: Rainham, Greater London RM13

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting and operating of CNC lathes, vertical machining centres, Turning machines and horizontal machining centres
  • Ensuring cycle times and outputs are achieved, report failings.
  • Complete detailed quality checks against dimensional drawings using measuring equipment, verniers, micrometers and gauges
  • Pass off 1st off approvals for production run and log and record all measurements on the relevant check sheets.
  • Program transfers from the computer system.
  • Set machines as requested and ensure that cycle times achieve
  • Recognise, identify and report requirements or shortfalls for parts and components
  • Using Ikegai, Index ABC / C65, and Citizens controls and conventional machines (&Drills, capstan lathes, fly press)
  • Train and develop new team members to the standard required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards.
  • Maintain good communications and relationships throughout company.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures
  • Fill in for machine shop team leader when required.

WHAT YOU WILL ALREADY HAVE:

  • Experience of CNC Setting
  • Good understanding of set ups and tooling
  • Turning machine experience
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Some programming experience is desirable but not essential
