Rainham Steel are looking for a Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team!

Location: Rainham Steel Co Ltd, Essex RM13 9PF
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 PA (DOE)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (8am - 5:30pm, 42.5 hours per week)

Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer - The Role:

Due to continued growth and expansion, we're looking for an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Rainham, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent role within a stable, well-established company offering a competitive salary and a supportive team environment.

You'll work as part of our growing maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation and reliability of a wide range of equipment, including rebar processing machines, bandsaws, diesel forklifts/side loaders, overhead cranes, terminal tractors, HGVs, and trailers.

Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Key Responsibilities:

- Reporting to the Operations Manager

- Installation, diagnosis, and repair of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems

- Welding (MIG, ARC), cutting, and fabrication

- Fault finding and problem resolution

- Performing both reactive and preventative maintenance

- Conducting periodic servicing and inspections

- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and assisting with part identification and procurement

- Willingness to work paid overtime when required

- Standard working hours: 8am - 5:30pm (42.5 hours per week)

Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer - You:

- Proven experience in a maintenance role within a production or industrial environment

- Skilled in mechanical maintenance, including bearings, belts, chains, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding

- Competent with electrical control systems

- Experience maintaining diesel engine plant equipment

- Strong communication skills with the ability to work well in a team

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, pressurised environment

- Good command of the English language

-Reliable and punctual with strong time management skills
