Premier Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a well established and international organisation in Rainham to recruit a Logistic Supervisor to join their team. This is an exciting, full-time and permanet position role with a scope for progression.

Job Role:

To provide support to the Supply Chain Manager with managing and refining all operational, commercial and customer service aspects of inbound and outbound logistics requirements through established contracts and continuous improvement initiatives with third-party logistics providers and service partners.

  • Supporting the leadership of a well-established team of eight colleagues, responsible for order capture, processing and fulfilment, inventory control, import & export administration, silo & farm optimisation and service level reporting
  • Assisting with the operational and commercial performance of all third-party logistics providers, covering all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics movements
  • Supporting the workflow within the Logistics team to ensure optimal performance and adherence to deadlines
  • Supporting the relationship with major retailers, relating to factory gate collections, backhaul and consolidation centre operations, including commercial agreements
  • Supporting service level performance and reporting, including participating on service reviews with internal and external stakeholders
  • Stock reporting and cost management, with a continuous improvement mindset to ensure process adherence and robust controls are in place
  • Review and improve cost management and reporting processes to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • It is envisaged that Line Manager responsibilities will be introduced at some stage in the first year of service

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge and at least 10 years' experience of logistics within an FMCG environment.
  • Detailed understanding of logistics operations, data sources, disciplines and best practices.
  • Experience of customer distribution and management of 3PL providers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, highly numerate and analytical / detailed approach.
  • High degree of computer literacy - ERP systems, BI, Microsoft Packages and WMS systems.
  • Experience of leading performance improvement projects in an FMCG logistics environment
  • Previous experience in leading teams would be advantageous
