Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Rainham, Essex

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: Days (Monday to Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

Perform planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on a wide range of machinery and equipment within a heavy industrial environment.
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace components on large machines, including motors, conveyors, pumps, and presses.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and resolve potential issues before they affect production.
Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and modifications to improve operational efficiency.
Work closely with the engineering team to maintain and improve production line performance.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts used.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Requirements:

Recognized mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a heavy industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic equipment.
Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
Experience with welding, fabrication, and other mechanical repair techniques.
Ability to work independently and efficiently while managing multiple tasks.
A strong commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing or heavy machinery environment is desirable.
