An exceptional post 16 provision is seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work with young adults with diverse needs, supporting them in developing essential life skills, improving functional independence, and enhancing their overall well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of sensory integration, motor skills development, and adaptive strategies to help individuals thrive in their daily lives.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' functional abilities and areas for development.
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans to support students in achieving their personal and educational goals.
- Provide interventions focusing on motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and daily living activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Offer training and guidance to staff and families on best practices for supporting students’ occupational development.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, progress notes, and reports in line with professional standards.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy to enhance service delivery.
- Essential: A degree in Occupational Therapy (BSc/MSc) and HCPC registration.
- Proven experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in an educational or paediatric setting.
- Strong knowledge of sensory integration, fine and gross motor skills development, and assistive technology.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to tailor interventions to the needs of individuals with varying abilities, including those with autism and other special educational needs.
