About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech and Language Tutor to work with a bright and energetic young person with a diagnosis of autism. The student presents complex speech, language, and social communication challenges aligned with his diagnosis. He is also sensory-seeking and thrives on physical activity, making this a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster the development of social communication skills through structured and creative approaches.
- Incorporate physical and sensory-based activities to support engagement and learning.
- Work collaboratively with students family and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach.
- Monitor and evaluate progress, adapting strategies as needed.
About You:
- A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy or a related field.
- Experience working with children or young adults with autism and complex communication needs.
- Knowledge of sensory integration and the ability to incorporate sensory activities into therapy.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping young people reach their potential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
