Our client, a leading logistics and supply chain solutions provider, is currently seeking an experienced Ocean Export Clerk with a background in ocean freight forwarding to join their team based in Rainham, East London.
About the Role

Ocean Export Clerk Key Responsibilities include:
Operational:
- Manage export container movements and coordinate shipments efficiently
- Liaise with international offices to ensure timely and accurate movement of consignments
- Oversee Customs clearance and arrange haulage as required
- Act as the first point of contact for clients, maintaining excellent service standards
- Accurately manage all shipment documentation and meet strict deadlines
Administrative:
- Maintain and update control sheets for full visibility and auditing
- Ensure all systems hold accurate, real-time information
Commercial:
- Provide competitive freight quotations and promote additional services
- Monitor job-file profitability and manage cost/revenue alignment
- Process and confirm invoicing on all relevant shipments
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding or Logistics
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Flexible, proactive approach with high attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Competency in Microsoft Office and logistics systems
