Responsibilities

To efficiently and effectively deliver the day-to-day operation of the Metal Finishing section, undertaking tasks under the direction of the Metal Finishing Team Leader or in his absence the Metal Finishing Supervisor.

  • Daily tasks include electroplating a variety of components from a wide selection of different aircraft platforms. Plating processes include Cadmium, Nickel, Chrome, Silver, Tin, Copper and Phosphate.
  • Help monitor and maintain stock levels of chemicals and consumables.
  • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly control checks.
  • Maintain the function of plant and equipment.
  • Maintain the 5S standard required.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained in accordance with EASA, FAA and company procedures.
  • Ensure you are working in accordance with the relevant Environmental, Health and Safety requirements for working in MPBU, specifically the plating bay.

Experience, Qualifications and Competencies

  • Experience in engineering/metal finishing (desirable)
  • Aviation background (highly desirable)
  • Computer literate
