AEM Limited has been Europe's leading independent overhaul and repair facility for more than 60 years. The company has a solid reputation in the aerospace industry for providing a broad range of services to international and regional airlines, helicopter operators and airframe manufacturers. Conducting business from three sites in the United Kingdom, AEM offers specialist services for in excess of 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment. In 2007 AEM Limited was acquired by AMETEK Inc, a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices as a unit within AMETEK MRO’s Aerospace and Defense Division, a recognized global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets.

As the Engineering Team Leader, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for both New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining Engineering activities in a fast-paced component MRO business. You will drive the development, repair, and overhaul of aerospace and industrial components, ensuring projects meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Your role will focus on innovating and improving repair processes, while also managing the introduction of new products and ensuring the long-term reliability of existing product lines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and supply chain, to ensure the seamless execution of engineering tasks from concept to delivery.

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in an engineering role, ideally within an MRO or aerospace environment. (highly desirable) • Experience of line management responsibilities and leading a team (essential)• Hands-on experience with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical aircraft components and assemblies (highly desirable). • Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis and failure investigations using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and FMEA. (highly desirable)• Proven experience in designing and building test tooling and rigs (highly desirable).• Strong understanding of technical drawings and documentation (essential).• Familiarity using 2D & 3D CAD (Fusion 360) and FEA software (highly desirable).• Strong experience in New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering, with a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget (highly desirable).• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques (highly desirable).• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations, including AS9100, CAA/EASA & FAA Part 145 (essential).

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline (HNC/HND acceptable with extensive experience).• Good knowledge of safe working practices and associated EHS requirements• Understands the importance of following instructions closely, completing compliance documentation accurately and knows when to escalate issues appropriately. • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), able to build relationship at all levels, communicate technical information to different audiences and navigate cultural differences. • Good organisation skills with a good eye for detail, able to manage own workload to meet deadlines, even in a fast-paced and changeable environment.• Strong organisational and project planning skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities.• Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.• Self-motivated, ambitious, and innovative in approach.• Focused on cost efficiency and working within set budgets.• Good IT skills across MS Office and CAD, able to learn other company systems quickly
