Key Responsibilities as a Design and Technology Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical lessons in Design and Technology, with a focus on hands-on learning and creativity.
  • Teach subjects such as Product Design, Engineering, or Resistant Materials, adapting to the needs of your students.
  • Inspire students to think critically, solve problems, and explore innovative solutions.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements for the Design and Technology Teacher role:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the DT curriculum, particularly in areas such as Product Design and Engineering.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Hold a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
