An esteemed organisation specialising in the design and manufacture of process machinery for the pharmaceutical industry is seeking hard-working and capable Mechanical Fitters / Field Engineers. This role involves factory machine assembly and subsequent site installation and servicing.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Mechanical assembly of full machines and sub-assemblies, including gearboxes, chain drives, leadscrews, and bearing housings.
  • Etching logos and serial numbers on machinery.
  • Working from mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Conducting fault finding, troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem-solving.
  • Operating tool-room machinery such as drills, saws, lathes, and mills.
  • Completing inspection and quality documents post-assembly.
  • Packing and crating of machines upon completion.
  • Performing field service work, both domestically and internationally.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NVQ, BTEC, HNC, HND, or similar qualification in an engineering-related discipline is preferred.
  • Significant consideration given to time-served apprentices.
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, and technical/industrial environments.
  • Basic electrical knowledge for cable runs and basic pneumatics is advantageous.
  • Possession of a driving licence is preferable.
  • Forklift licence is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to apply extra effort to meet project/team goals.
  • Prepared to travel both domestically and internationally for site work, including installation and commissioning of machines.
