Orka Financial is currently partnering with a growing, successful small business that is looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join the team. This is a newly created hands-on role that will have full responsibility for the finance function reporting into the Commercial Director.

The role will involve production of management/ statutory accounts with a focus on reporting and forecasting on a weekly basis. Duties will include,

Production of the group accounts / statutory reporting requirements, ensuring that financial records are up to date and reporting is completed in a timely manner

Production of budgets and forecasting by department on a weekly basis and management by department

Producing weekly reports to optimise business growth, assessing current reporting structure and improving where necessary

Leading the month-end process, including payroll, project accounting (deferred income releases, valuations and accruals), prepayments and depreciation journals, and management accounts reports for Directors

CIS returns - includes filing the return monthly, corresponding with subcontractors to get the CIS registration information, verifying with HMRC, sending out subcontractor statement of deductions

Payroll preparation and liaison with payroll provider

Checking and filing of quarterly VAT returns

Approving payment runs/managing aged debt

The role requires a qualified Accountant who has a flexible/adaptable approach and is happy to work closer with the wider business and add value.

The role is based in Winnersh Triangle, office based.
