A client of ours who operation in technology SME space is looking for a new Financial Controller to join their business. The role is a hybrid position, where you will be based in the office 1-2 days per week. The office is currently based in Reading.
This role involves managing accounting and finance operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial leadership and a strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, IFRS, and tax. This is an opportunity for a hands-on professional to make a meaningful impact while contributing to long-term growth and efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
- Financial Management and Operations.
- Manage all aspects of accounting and finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, re-forecasting, and reporting.
- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including management accounts and statutory reports.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including tax codes, IFRS, and internal policies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial control frameworks to safeguard the organisation's assets.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure the organisation's financial stability.
- Leadership and Strategy.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
- Provide actionable financial insights to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Play a pivotal role in the planning and implementation of future finance systems to drive operational efficiency.
- International Finance and Compliance.
- Manage financial operations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring global compliance and consistency.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant financial laws and standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (**ACA, ACCA, CIMA**, or equivalent).
- Proven expertise in: IFRS, tax compliance, and financial regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional leadership skills to manage teams and oversee key projects.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and the **Microsoft Office Suite**
