Job Advert: Interim Financial Controller

Location: Colchester or Reading (Hybrid Working)Start Date: ASAPWorking Arrangement: Hybrid – 4 days remote, 1 day in the office

We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join our team on a temporary basis, supporting critical financial operations during the year-end period. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic professional to play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of year-end and month-end processes, as well as managing the year-end audit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Liaise with auditors during the year-end audit, providing required documentation and resolving queries.

  • Support the finance team with reconciliation, variance analysis, and other technical accounting duties.

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and relevant accounting standards.

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and reporting as required by senior management.

About You:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a strong background in financial control.

  • Proven experience managing year-end processes and working with auditors.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
