Management Accountant - Reading (Central) - Hybrid - £45.000 - 9 - 12-month FTC

My client is seeking a Management Accountant on a contract basis to cover for a maternity leave. This is an exciting role working in a company that offers flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support the budgeting process by gathering and analysing data from various departments.
  • Help in the preparation of variance reports to compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate financial records by inputting and updating financial data into accounting systems.
  • Monitor and analyse departmental spending, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide financial information and support to various departments as needed, including ad hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Work closely with the finance team to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Part qualified accountant
  • Previous experience in a finance role
  • Audit experience
  • Good Excel knowledge
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and confident manner
  • Good attention to detail
  • Capable of working well under their own initiative and able to meet deadlines
