My client is a dynamic company based near Reading and they are looking to recruit a Tax Accountant to join their growing finance team. You will play a crucial role in managing the company's corporate tax affairs, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing expert advice on tax planning strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of the tax function within a collaborative environment and would suit either an individual leaving an audit firm or somebody who has tax experience as part of their previous roles and is looking to focus on the tax tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit corporate tax returns in accordance with local tax regulations.
  • Tax Reporting: Manage the preparation of year-end tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations, and support financial reporting for tax-related matters.
  • Tax Planning.
  • Liaison with HMRC: Act as the key point of contact for HMRC and external advisors.
  • Process Improvement: Work with the finance team to continuously improve tax processes, systems, and controls.
  • Ad-hoc Tax Projects

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Exposure to corporate tax within an in-house environment or from a tax advisory role.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK corporate tax regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a proactive approach to managing workload and deadlines.
