Immediately start available for an Accountant with strong knowledge of VAT to join an expanding team, working in a picturesque environment SW of Reading. The successful candidate will assist in supporting the implementation of tax excellence for an educational client, and will play a key role in advising on VAT matters, optimising VAT recovery, and supporting the finance team with related financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading tax excellence for an educational client
- Provide expert advice and support with VAT matters, as well as assisting with budgets, management accounts and statutory accounts.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of monthly and annual accounts, VAT returns, liaising with HMRC as issues arise
- Providing specialist VAT and taxation advice and support to Head of Finance
Requirements
- Experienced and professional Accountant, part-qualified min or QBE
- Strong experience in VAT / broad accounting
- Any experience from education / charitable sector or public sector could be advantageous
- Knowledge of UK VAT legislation and HMRC compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software and strong Excel skills
- Preference may be offered to a suitable candidate available at short notice
