The Indirect Tax team within my client's business continues to grow at a rapid pace. Indirect Taxes raise significant revenues for governments globally and gain increasing focus from tax authorities, the media and the public. For you, it's the chance to hone your tax technical, project management and client service skills with interesting and complex assignments to help clients of all sizes succeed.

The team comprises a mix of 'home-grown' (including at partner level) and externally recruited talent. They will help you succeed:

That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships. You'll be someone who is both comfortable taking responsibility for your own client portfolio as well as working as part of a team to develop colleagues and drive the wider business aims. You will be part of a local team, supported by two Senior Managers, a Director and a Partner but given the autonomy and time to develop your personal business as part of that team.

You'll be someone with:

  • Significant technical understanding of and previous experience within UK VAT.
  • In-depth knowledge of recent key updates and areas of focus within UK VAT
  • Responsibility to build, manage and develop your advisory portfolio, supported by the Partner and Director.
  • Confidence to build an internal and external network in the local area to drive new business opportunities
  • Ability to actively seek opportunities for selling new services to existing clients
  • Experience of leading engagement with HMRC for clients
  • Experience and credibility when dealing with client senior management
  • An understanding of the regulatory and risk environment in which ICAEW regulated professional services firms operate
  • CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent
