We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join on of our valued clients. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, efficient, and comfortable handling various tasks in a busy setting. The Accounts Assistant will be instrumental in managing day-to-day accounting tasks and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
  • Complete purchase orders and manage payroll systems.
  • Complete bank reconciliations.
  • Enter financial information into appropriate software programs.
  • Manage company ledgers.
  • Handle accruals and prepayments.
  • Manage monthly budgeting tasks.
  • Encode accounting entries for data processing.
  • Sort financial documents and post them to the proper accounts.
  • Review and reconcile accounts for accuracy.
  • Perform recordkeeping and assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Assist with audits, fact checks and resolving discrepancies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
  • Professional manner and strong ethical code.
  • Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive.
  • Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Sage or Xero
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • AAT qualification is preferred but not essential.
