Assistant Accountant & Administrator, AAT Level 3-4 / ACCA Level 1-2 qualified, to start asapfrom 18/11/2024.

Full time based in Reading office: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday; occasional overtime.

Three-month probation, training with the Financial Controller. Once permanent, successful candidate will be eligible for enrollment on the Company pension scheme. Any other benefits will be offered after completion of one-year's service.

Annual holiday entitlement: 25 days p.a.plus Bank Holidays.

Job description: Assistant tothe Financial Controller.

Using Connected accounting software package (similar to QuickBooks), including preparation for:-

- All aspects of Accounts Payable function.

- Monthly payroll spreadsheet (a small payroll of 21 staff to be forwarded to external accountant).

- Suppliers' payment run spreadsheet, both UK and foreign.

- Updating the bank in Connected and weekly bank reconciliation.

- Credit card analysis and posting in Connected.

- Staff expenses analysis.

- Petty cash.

HR administration, including:-

- MonitoringBright HR for staff holidays and absences and the Time Moto clocking-in machine for hours worked and overtime by Production staff.

- Answering the office telephone, forwarding calls, taking messages and answering questions.

- Office equipment: arranging service visits, insurance, etc.

- Monitoring and ordering office supplies.

- Ensuring company contact information is kept up-to-date.

First Aider at Work (one of two in the company). St John Ambulance training provided with annual refresher training.

Key skills needed:

- Numerate and IT literate.

- Excellent spoken and written English and communication skills.

- Good timekeeping and attendance.

- Ability to work to tight deadlines.

- Self-motivated and keen to learn more.

- Practical team player, willing to assist in other areas when required.
