Our client, a rapidly growing SaaS organisation based in Reading is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team to work remotely.

Supporting the Chief Financial Officer, and Senior Management Team the successful candidate will be completing routine accounting tasks, representing Finance and HR on the Information Security Committee, assisting with the preparation of budgets, and reporting tasks both routine and adhoc.

There will be plenty of opportunities to build on your experience and gain exposure to different areas of the business and to develop business partnering skills.

Salary up to £45k plus discretionary bonus plus benefits inc. pension and 25 days holiday

  • Full-time, Mon-Fri - 9am-5:30pm
  • This is a remote working role with occassional meetings in Reading

Duties include

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and databases
  • Responsibility for both the Accounts Payable and Debtor ledgers to include raising and processing invoices and Credit Control
  • Managing payroll
  • Assisting the Chief Financial Officer with the month end process and preparation of monthly management reports to include Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with the budgeting and monthly forecasting cycle
  • Completing bank reconciliations
  • Processing business expenses and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Analysing financial data to identify trends and potential issues
  • Coordinating internal and external audits as appropriate
  • Compliance:Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining organisational integrity

Skills/Experience

  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills - particularly Excel
  • Payroll Experience
  • Detail Oriented
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem solving skills
  • Experience within a SaaS environment would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience using Xero would also be an advantage
  • Experience of ISO27001 would also be an advantage
