Description
The Assistant Management Accountant will cover:
- Acting as a strong business partner, gaining a good relationship with operations teams and understanding the contract deliverables and the financial impact of these is key to this role.
- Communicating regularly with contract managers, other finance personnel including financial controller and regional financial controller
- Complete the management accounts in a timely manner and alert senior management if there are any concerns or issues around this
- Preparation of management accounts and budgets
- Reporting accurate financial information that will be used for business decisions
- Understanding the terms of the contract, when indexation should be applied, what sort of cost needs to be accrued and whether deferred income needs to be released
- Financial management reporting of simple client contracts
- The role supports operations and project managers to achieve financial targets and supports operations and project managers in preparation of budgets and forecasts
- The role supports all contracts in their quest to improve efficiency
- Plan for the short and medium term and ensure this is communicated to and agreed with their line manager
Profile
A successful Assistant Management Accountant should have:
- AAT but not essential, other experience will be considered
- Strong understanding of Double Entry Bookkeeping, BSR and Journals.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in presenting finance information back to Operations team members.
Job Offer
- A competitive salary range of 34,500 to 38,000 per annum for someone AAT
- Hybrid working, initially 3 days in office but can then flex to two.
