Urban Designer / Masterplanner

A leading built environment consultancy is seeking an Urban Designer / Masterplanner with a passion for creating high-quality, lasting places that foster community and well-being. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of landscape masterplans, urban design projects, design codes, and strategic masterplanning initiatives.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop masterplans and detailed designs for projects across the South and Home Counties.
  • Produce feasibility reports, access statements, and outline master planning documents.
  • Provide architectural, regeneration, and urban design services to a diverse client base.
  • Review and enhance existing developments, offering strategic design advice.
  • Create hand-drawn and digital designs for client presentations.
  • Liaise regularly with stakeholders, clients, and project teams.
  • Support and mentor junior team members while managing small to mid-scale projects.


Skills & Experience

  • Degree or professional qualification in Planning and/or Urban Design.
  • Recent and relevant experience in planning and urban design.
  • Strong technical ability in planning and urban design work.
  • Experience dealing with local planning authorities.
  • A keen eye for landscape, architectural design, and master planning.
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge client requirements with project teams.
  • Ambition, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
