As our operations grow, we are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and contribute to the smooth running of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, for management review.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Ensure compliance with financial and legal regulations specific to the social services sector.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with UK financial regulations and tax codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
- Experience in the social services or non-profit sector is a plus.
- AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable.
