Your new companyA well known technology organisation based in the Reading area, offers hybrid working (1-2 days on-site pw in Reading area) and a 6-month assignment to an experienced Operational Risk Analyst. Your new roleYou will be responsible for providing risk management and governance / reporting / co-ordination for all areas of this business.

  • Challenging risk mitigation plans to ensure they are appropriate.
  • Risk control auditing to ensure risks are being managed effectively and controls performed.
  • Tracking risk mitigation actions and updates/reporting to the organisation
  • Bringing together areas/teams/people to facilitate risk mitigation action plans.
  • Capturing/scheduling regular operational risk reviews of the business units in the division to ensure risk management is maintained and up to date and progressing.
  • Managing the mitigation actions required to ensure risks have the required progress for each Business Unit by co-ordinating review calls and recording the status.
  • Managing risk updates and reporting across the whole unit, providing an end-to-end view of risk status.
  • Maintaining a consistent approach to risk documentation and evidence for accepted/monitored/deferred risks.
  • Monthly reporting on business unit risk governance status to risk owners and leaders.
  • Provision of risk insights with actionable points for leadership.
  • Responsible for ensuring known risks, errors and vulnerabilities are mitigated as part of the Compliance and Governance standard / policy controls

What you'll need to succeed

  • This is a hands-on risk role, so you need to be happy getting stuck into day-to-day risk conversations with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ideally, you will hold IRM qualification or similar relevant certification.
  • Familiar with the methods and techniques for risk management and business impact
  • Strong senior stakeholder and customer management skills
  • Strong analytical, risk aggregation and restructuring skills.
  • Operational process development skills and experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with Excel/PowerPoint knowledge/expertise.
  • Demonstrate strong influencing and persuading skills, encourage colleagues and teams to change established standards and achieve improvements and best practice.
