The Opportunity

We are a well-respected and long-established UK Cleaning / Security and soft FM business with Offices UK wide. As a result of continued growth and our planned Europe wide strategy we are looking to grow both our cleaning and security services division in the UK.

The Package

  • 55k - 60k Basic
  • 75k - 80k OTE
  • Car or Car Allowance

The Role of The Business Development Manager

To drive increase in sales revenues by the identification and execution of primarily self-generated new business opportunities to generate new sales and retained sales for the company including additional non-contractual business and sales in cleaning and facility services.

The BDM needs to work on four levels, ensuring that all activities are engaged at the same time to achieve positive results:

  • To achieve or exceed the individual sales target (£1m per calendar year), ensuring that the company’s profit and financial requirements are met.
  • Prospecting and researching for new business, and Identification of potential new business opportunities that are most likely to buy Samsic services
  • Take personal responsibility for the identification and development of a top 20 prospects (by size) in each sectoral target area.
  • Generate opportunities for the company to provide potential clients with quotations for additional services.
  • Prepare proposals of services for potential clients, including presentations for new sales and retendering opportunities.

The Person

You will need experience in selling soft services of a contractual nature if you do not already have contract cleaning and FM experience, with success at selling at a key account or national account level. Our model involves bids and tender presentations as well as proposals and a sales process which is often 3-6 months. Therefore, patience as well as self-motivation to create a healthy pipeline is required.
