An excellent opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Partner to join my clients Development & House Building Team to work closely with other partners within the team and across th firm in their Reading, Berkshire offices on a hybrid basis.

This role would suit someone who's interested in an opportunity to help develop and grow an existing specialist team which focuses solely on advising developers, house builders, land traders, promoters, funders and landowners in connection with a broad range of development projects both locally and nationally.

In addition, this Team works alongside other teams in the Firm that specialise in Corporate Real Estate, Planning, Construction and Property Litigation.

The Team benefits from a long history of handling plot sales and property finance arrangements for development transaction

Skills, Attributes & Experience:

• You will possess in excess of 8 years’ experience in property development, with management experience and autonomously handling high value/complex development transactions.• Used to managing and leading a team, and preparing and managing budgets.• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating option agreements, conditional contracts, promotion agreements, S106 agreements, infrastructure agreements and related deeds and documents undertaking due diligence, and providing detailed reporting.• Experience of preparing for/overseeing commercial or residential plot sales would be beneficial.• Experience handling secured acquisition and development finance transactions.• Ability to identify concerns and risks, providing practical and commercial solutions to clients.• Experience winning new work and building and maintaining relationships with existing clients and referrers in the development sector.• A strategic thinker with a commercial mindset, able to develop strategies for growth and drive business development.• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with team members, clients, and third parties involved in transactions.• Organised and detail-oriented, with an ability to approach complex problems methodically.• An understanding of competitive issues within the sector and a proactive approach to implementing changes in service delivery as required to ensure continued success for the team.
