Court of Protection Solicitor/ Legal Executive or Senior Paralegal

We are seeking a Solicitor or Legal Executive with 2+ years of post-qualification experience who has a genuine interest in Court of Protection work who is keen to join an established and thriving team. For the right candidate, we would also consider a Senior Paralegal for this position.
This role requires a combination of legal expertise, practical problem-solving skills and a compassionate approach to client care. You will play a key role in supporting clients through complex legal processes and ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and empathy.
Experience/ Attributes required:
- Exceptional ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored support.
- Clear and effective communication with clients, team members, and various professionals.
- Ability to convey complex legal information in an understandable manner.
- Proven experience in managing multiple tasks efficiently and accurately, such as preparing applications, controlling budgets, and supervising tax affairs.
- High level of accuracy in preparing legal documents and applications, ensuring all details are meticulously handled.
- Practical approach to resolving issues and finding solutions for clients' needs.
- Ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Experience in networking and building professional relationships.
- Genuine empathy for clients, understanding their situations, and providing compassionate support.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with care and professionalism.
- Proven understanding of Court of Protection work, including statutory Wills, deputyships, and private trust work.
- Familiarity with relevant legal procedures and regulations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and handle a diverse range of tasks.
- Ability to manage workload effectively under pressure.
- While not essential, experience in a Clinical Negligence or catastrophic claims environment would be advantageous, providing valuable insights into client needs and case management.
Work type:
- Assisting the team with managing high-value deputyships and private trust cases, ensuring clients' best interests are always prioritised.
- Preparing and submitting various types of applications to the Court of Protection.
- Assisting in the purchase of properties and adapting them to meet the specific needs of clients, coordinating with surveyors, architects, and other specialists.
