ROLE – Senior Chemical Process Engineer  SALARY - £70,000- £90,000 per annum (dependent on experience)TYPE – PermanentLOCATION – West Berkshire  My client designs and manufactures specialist equipment for process industries. They are looking for a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their team in West Berkshire on a permanent basis.    The Senior Chemical Process Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in chemical process engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment 
  • Knowledge of / experienced with thermal processes
  • A degree (BEng, MEng, MSc, or PhD) in Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong knowledge of process design, scale-up, and optimization
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD)
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., COMAH, HSE)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership skills, and ideally some people management experience
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the design, development, and optimisation of chemical processes
  • Solving problems and improving engineering processes
  • Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new and existing projects
  • Overseeing the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Managing and mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including R&D, production, and quality assurance
  • Preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Pushing for constant progression for product development and manufacturing techniques
