Civil engineers support the planning, design, building, management, maintenance or dismantling of buildings, structures, and infrastructure. They will use and apply engineering principles and techniques, carry out calculations and data analysis, prepare and produce sketches and diagrams. Duties for this Thames Water scheme typically include:
- Support civil engineering projects by creating and modifying engineering diagrams, documents, and specifications, following industry standards.
- Assist in developing engineering solutions by collecting and analysing technical data and using digital tools like CAD/BIM/REVIT
- Prioritise safety by adhering to health and safety guidelines, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including environmental and sustainability measures.
- Manage project quality, budget, and targets using available systems while maintaining data security.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, customers, and stakeholders.
- Work both independently and as part of a team, taking responsibility for tasks.
- Promote equality, diversity, and ethical standards.
- Continuously learn and develop skills in line with professional codes and industry standards.

Typical Working Week
40 hours p/w with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of 8 hours at college.

Qualifications required/desirable
Minimum Requirements
English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4 or above, or Functional Skills at Level 2 or above.
Must be willing to travel in and around the Thames Valley region (Between Oxford and Reading)
Desired Requirements
It will be an advantage if you have some previous related work experience or completed a Level 2 Engineering qualification.
Key Training/College Information
K10 will enrol you to the Level 3 Civil Engineering course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider.
The apprenticeship duration is 36 months.

To start this apprenticeship, youll need to be:
- Living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status
- Not enrolled on any other courses
- 18+ due to site H&S rules
- Must be able to drive to work
- Must have had a full UK drivers license for more than 6 months
