Interim Building Control Surveyor

Location: London, hybrid 2 days on site

Length: 3 months (Possibility of extension)

IR35 Status: Inside

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Building Control Surveyor:

  • Review plans for a diverse range of construction projects
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations
  • Provide Building Control advice through various channels (phone, email, in person)
  • Inspect dangerous structures during regular working hours
  • Participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and correspondence
  • Support the training of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors
  • Assist the Principal Surveyor and Head of Building Control with additional team duties

Key Skills required of the Interim Building Control Surveyor:

  • Degree in construction or equivalent qualification, preferably with a Band C Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR) qualification
  • Full corporate membership status with a recognized professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB
  • Minimum of seven years' experience in Building Control
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Eagerness to learn and develop both soft and technical skills
  • Strong team player with a sense of responsibility
